I eventually collected my (well, technically it is my wife's car now
) DB9 09 reg in Hardley Green with Bitter Chocolate Leather interior on Friday
and I have already managed to do 600+ miles Eurotrip in 2 days
Amazing GT car, I am really impressed, much better designed and built for long motorway blasts than my Ferrari 360
A bit hard to get used to the fact that 3,000 rpm equals 95 miles per hour (on Autohban obviously ) but I think I managed do this...however whilst I was trying to get myself familiar with "acceleration procedure" in such a beautiful car I've been flashed and then stopped by very friendly Belgium cops on E40 near Jabbeke. Very friendly, great service, 'sorry sir, you was doing quite a bit over the limit (thanks God they did not stop me 20 minutes earlier when I was doing even more!), you documents please, it will cost you 290 euros sir, cash or card? cash...OK, fine, thank you very much sir, exact money please as we do not have change, here is your receipt, lets do quick breath analyzing test, you are fine sir, have a safe trip'...'sorry officer, bye'.
Seems the guys went there to earn some cash, patrol car with 2/3 coppers and another 3/4 coppers on the bikes in the area spotting for the speeding motorists, pulling you over to petrol station where patrol meets you...quite a few cars mainly with german & uk plates are partying with cash at the same time It was quite funny actually even 290 euros out of my pocket
However even this did not spoil the experience, I would even say added some extra charm in it. Amazing car, I was a bit skeptical buying it TBH but I can't regret now.
