I just got one and have a few software issues.

1) How do you save Geo-Located courses (I clicked save and they appeared in my courses but when I quit the program and re-opened it they had disappeared completely!)

2) Can you rescale the google map window or get it to toggle on and off because it blocks the main video view.

Any other tips gratefully received as some of the instructions make no sense (and clearly didn't to the bloke tasked with translating them given the hilarious square bracket comments!)

1 - I've been using these for a couple of years but haven't done this.

2 - I hide the map window - can't remember how off hand.

You might like to join our group where you can ask questions like this - we also arrange internet races if you're interested.

cheers, I have worked out how to hide the map now but still having issues with geo-located courses I have saved disappearing and reappearing randomly each time I open the program.

My major problem at the moment, and one that would prevent me racing with you, is that it is just way too easy - I was going up the Galibier at 15mph which isn't vaguely realistic for me, ok I climb well, but 7-8mph average would be what should be happening. I entered my weight in kg so not sure if it thinks it was lbs as I had it set to imperial. Hopefully the guy from Elite will sort it for me, but do you have any tips or seen anything similar?

Well if you've set it to imperial you certainly need to enter your weight in lbs. Annoyingly it's hard to know how closely your unit is calibrated to other people's units so when racing it may be that others have less resistance that you. I did use a Real Power for a while and the calibration on that was way out - you can alter it on there easily but need a power meter really.

I do suggest you switch to metric though as most people use metric on their set ups; when racing you need to use the same units - a bit poor I think. You can set up two users on your software, one for each, and then try loading your videos in both - doesn't always work though IME.

great news that it is such an easy fix, now seeing the other half of the galibier that I haven't seen will be rather harder than the first half (when it thought I weighed 4.7 stone...)

Do you have to put a bike weight in on top as well or does it factor that in already?

I do sort of round it up a bit but I don't worry about getting it exactly right. I do suggest you have a look at that yahoo group though as there's some useful archived stuff and also asking questions there should get some useful responses.

I created a new profile in metric and I did have to re-load the realaxiom courses.

Galibier was a lot harder, and the second half of it is a lot steeper anyway once you get into the hairpins - I was about an hour and 3 or 4 minutes I think and had to get out of the saddle 6 or so times and felt sick for about the last 4km so it was probably quite realistic. Not sure how that compares with your racing lot's times but it is the first time I have ever put that kind of effort into a solid climb so I'm sure I could improve.

Still seem to be having very random experience with whether my geo-located courses will appear from one load-up to the next though, will have to post on your forum

I like Galibier but my video is a bit distorted for some reason so I don't ride it much, I think I do it in about the same time as you - slower maybe. I've just set up my new Real Axiom so will start using it soon. I tend to do climbs but the internet racing lot seem to prefer routes with more flat and even descents - one of them uses a 56t chainring to really fly downhill!

I tried to PM you - curious to hear what videos you have.

How do you mean distorted? It is disappointing the guy blatantly filmed it from a motorbike at about 15-20mph because everything happens in slow motion with the people milling about. It is funny though how sometimes if a car goes past or cyclist is ahead you want to accelerate to try to catch them or I found myself thinking I could slow down to the pace of the next group of cyclists I catch - d'oh!

I can see why they would race more on the flat. I only just got mine so I only have the Galibier and Vassiviere part 1 or whatever it was that came with it. Where is the cheapest place to get them, there are a couple more I am interested in?

Actually I'm not that cool about telling Yahoo all that personal information about myself just to use a forum, I'm pretty sure Pistonheads didn't need any of that when I set an account up with them!

The video is just very distorted, hard to describe but like there's too much compression used perhaps? No other video I have is like this.

I didn't notice that yahoo asks a lot of personal info but you can use a Facebook or Google account to log in if you have one.

There's also an email list to inform about upcoming races - PM me if you want contact info.

Have you got the wireless version? I have and can't get my Garmin ANT+ HRM belt to work with it.

No mine has wires all over the place! Unit plugged into mains and cadence sensor and to laptop and to control unit you put on bars.

I fancy Giro 2008 stage 1, Madrid, Milan San Remo Alassio Imperia. Got any of those?

I have San Remo Alassio Imperia and if you mean Palermo for Giro 2008 stage 1 then I have that too.

Tappa 01 - Cronometro Palermo - both look reasonable length and profile and nice scenery. Agreed? I found the Galibier really hard (as it should be) so I am a bit put off buying anymore ridiculous passes until I am a bit better at pacing myself on them, think I went too hard at the bottom whereas the sting is in the upper half, felt sick for the last 4km!

They are nice to ride, I could lend them to you.

Galibier is tough but Ventoux is a bit of a killer! Galibier has the best scenery though.

Ive been using my Realaxiom for a week or so now and so far very pleased. Currently its running on an old laptop with Vista. Will it run on Windows 7 or 8? Thanks for any feedback.

runs fine on windows 7. Mine is still randomly decidimg to show some geo-located courses I created one day and then not another which remains irritating.

Thanks for the update. Forgot to ask about the heartrate monitor. I've got a Cardiosport that it does not reconise. It states a frequency in the instructions but does a Polar or one of the other major brands work OK? Thanks in advance.

If yours is the wireless version then you need an ANT HRM belt. Otherwise most others should do, I used to use a Ciclosport one with my old wired one.
