Unfortunately I can't copy and paste the link from eBay using my ipad..
So, in searching for vantage number 2 for the mrs, I came across a dealer in Coventry who has for sale a nice looking V8V 2006, black on black with red stitching.
Pictures show a nice example.
Phoned this morning to discuss before I go to view it.
First and biggest question I ask, has the clutch been replaced?
After 56k miles, "no! But there's no slippage and it drives as it should"
Hmmm...
Ok, so I ask about details.
Premium sound?
No
Full AMSH (or AM specialist?)
All bar most recent at 50k miles.
Brake pads/discs?
Warning light is on, pads to be replaced before sale...
Fair do.
Previous owner owned for 12months and hardly used it.
Not great for these cars, they need to be used.
So, I asked the dealer for an over the phone ball park figure on discounting the price in light of these issues (which I explained thoroughly to him and the potential cost they could incur)
From the original £31995 asking price he said he could do £31k
No thanks I said.
Without seeing the car (which he also said had "age related scuffs and marks"), and based on other cars for sale with similar or better spec and service history (incl clutch change),
I value the car at £28k-£29k.

I think even Bogie would agree that the clutch is likely to be on its way out, regardless of how it's been driven. I'd also be wary of 'scuffs and wear for it's age' as mine is 6 years old and pretty immaculate. Based upon that and not havng seen it, I'd reckon sub 30k. I live in Rugby, so only 12 miles from Coventry, so if you wanted me to have a gander this weekend, it's probably do-able?

Looks like a nice example but does it have full AM SH done each year? Is the garage offering any warranty?
I would definitely say if you bought one privately you'd be looking at under 30k mark.

So it has to be around the right money. I did not see a V8V going at under £30K this year, but how wrong can you be!! Even though the mileage is on the upper side for an AM, it is not outrageous.
