AA warranty - do I need to wait for the part to fail?

My wife's car has developed a nasty noise from the engine bay. Could be water / pas pump... Do I need to wait for the part to fail or can I call them out now?

Obviously I'll give them a ring, just thought I'd check the PH community on this as a number on here have that warranty.

i think you have to wait for it go wrong, and then call the aa out although i might be wrong.
be aware though that they dont cover investigative work, so if they investigate fault for 3 hours, that wont be paid for under the warrenty. iirc

Was there some sort of small print with the warranty? What does it say?

There is a pretty good chance they will class it as wear and tear anyway and not pay out.

I've just run through the T&C's, it just mentions breakdowns with no reference to preempting a failure. However I seem to recall (perhaps wrongly) someone on here got a problem fixed before it actually failed.
