Cricket for England. Never played football, it's for watching. Hold on, I'm a Bolton fan.....

Good call, Asking Steve Bucknor for a 1 leg guard at lords before creaming Glenn McGrath through extra cover for four would be hard to beat

My country. I've gone off of international football since this new crop of players (post 2004) stopped giving a st but to step out at Wembley with 3 lions on my shirt would be a dream beyond dreams.

I don't know how anyone could love Spurs more than I do but above all else, I'm an Englishman (well I'm a quarter Irish with possible german/jewish ancestory). So England wins by 51% with my club at 49%, good at maths me.

I'd choose to play for Chelsea before England. If I'm only going to play one game, I want to play it with other players that actually appear to care, and I'd quite like a reasonable chance on ending up on the winning side.

As I'm only playing one game, I'd probably want to play it at the Bridge. Or if it was an away game, one of the great venues of world football, like Old Trafford, Anfield, the Nou Camp, San Siro or Bernabau. Maybe the Azteca. Certainly not some crumbling old dump in the scruffy backstreets of riot central!

I would choose to play for Liverpool....

Although if the england game was a world cup final, my answer would be different, but say a cold night in poland- no thanks.

Liverpool V Man Utd at Anfield, that would be the dream fixture to play in.

It would be my club.

I'd rather play with more club players than with players I don't like or support.
Now, if I was a pro and given the chance to play for England I'd jump at the chance but to savour the experience of playing with players I want to see week in week out it would be the club team.

Ideally the 79 European Cup winning team, or the early 90's team that included Pearce, Walker, Keane, Clough, etc

You've got more chance of actually turning out for Liverpool than England have of reaching a world cup final!

The fact this is even being debated shows how much things have changed. When I was a nipper walking out at Wembley was the absolute pinacle without a doubt. That's partly because the level of football at club level/premier league is just so much better than it is for England and also because Wembley doesn't have the mystique it did then. Long gone are the days when Wembley was only used for the FA Cup final and England games.

Cheib is right. The first world cup I recall was Mexico 70. Chelsea had won the FA cup, England were world champions and retaining the world cup would make everything perfect. I cried my heart out when we lost to W. Germany, especially after being 2-0 up.

But these days, much as I'd like to see England do well, I couldn't give two hoots really. I laughed when we lost 4-1 to Germany last time. I hoped they'd get a few more in the closing stages, a 7 or 8-1 loss and things might have changed at the FA. As it is we just blindly carry on in our own merry way, falling further and further behind.

If Chelsea lose to Spuds tomorrow, I'll be far more upset than England going out of a major tournament.

Wembley for England, absolutely no doubt. I love Leicester, I would do anything to be good enough to wear a City shirt, but walking out in front of 80,000+ English men cheering you on, singing the anthem.

I can't think there a many better feelings in life than that.

Easy, in the hole behind Carlton Cole at UP from where he would hear the stuff I usually shout at him from my armchair.

And then I`d probly leg it.
