Hi all,
after being scarily ill for most of this year I've finally got the energy to start putting the chimaera back together.smash Does anybody have any recomendations for overhauling the stock Lucas injectors on my car. I'm Birmingham based and would rather not trust Royal Mail after some recent "issues" with them grumpy. The car is a 93 4.3. Thanks in advance, Mark.biggrin

if you're getting them cleaned would it be worth getting the better Vectra ones for about £30 then have those cleaned? Meant to give much better results

I used a company on Ebay ,they do a very good job and they provide a flow read out for each injector .

You can do a reasonable job with a cheap ultra sonic cleaner and some white spirit. Most of the muck seems to be around the spray nozzle, but just clean the tips in the solution, dont drop the whole injector in. You can open the injector pintle up with 12 volts on the injector so the ultra sonic cleaning can get in a bit deeper, but you need to make sure the injector does not overheat- the best thing to do is fire the injector with an equal on / off 12 volt pulse so its not on all the time.

Doesn't the 14cux do slight adjustments to handle the dirty injectors ?laugh

Hi I used injectortune to clean mine, they also fitted new filters and 'O' rings and included a data chart showing the before and after cleaning.. Something worked, because before the fuel consumption was a little high (due to me having to use wider throttle to get a response), after the cleaning this settled down and the idling was a little smoother, I also mostly now use 98RON fuel with the little injector cleaner..here is the link to their site
