It's an alternative to hotmail (and the like) but only open by invitation at present (so all the best names will go before it's opened to the public) - best feature is the 1GB storage.

got >20 domains, most with pop3 boxes, was asked to help in the evaluation, said yes, got lots of invites

most people don't want their own domains and would be quite happy with 1gb web based e mail.

cheers

I prefer the mail setup of 1&1 but can't fault the ease of Freeparking

Oh, and having domains makes fighting spam much easier. You can have one address for each thing (i.e. a PH address and an ebay address etc) so when they start getting spammed, just divert the address to a deadend account, and use a new one.

well thats one way of doing it but that does mean you need to keep telling people you've changed your address.

My btinternet account has some very effective spam filtering currently holding back around 2-300 a day combined with outlook 2003 which recognises the 4-5 that get through BT as spam most of the time, means that of the 2-300 a day I end up reading about 2 a week. And the ones I do read automatically have any image download turned off.

My Hotmail account is set up so that only those on my list are not classed as spam which means that address gets about 5-10 a week and are stored in the spam folder for a week just in case.

This is much better IMO

I also have a couple of GMail accounts to give away, send me an email with your name and it's yours... (Unless you insist on buying me some pints)
