I have a Go Pro Hero camera I use when out in the car, and used it for the TITT 8 last weekend. The quality in picture you can't fault, however the sound quality on the move is s
te.
Does anyone have experience with the attachable microphone and remote?
Would be good to control from the driving position and record when the best shots are available.

i took Matt Poxon`s advice and ran the mike lead through the boot and next to the exhaust. i didnt have the fuzzy bit on it but it sounds ok, but fuzzy is probably best.
i did at last moment thing so didnt have an extension so i had to mount the camera on the side window, which wasnt the best idea ive ever had. but the sound is much, much better. oh and i drilled a hole with a tight fit into the side of the case.
tell me what you think?

Lee, PM me via PH as I have a video from the weekend of you lighting up the rears as you enter the Mermaid theatre tunnel ........... just as the Police van stuck it's nose out
Looking forward to seeing that. Funny thing is, as I slowly passed the boys in blue, the smoke from the tyres started to follow on from behind. Hardly subtle

The internal mic as absolute s
te. External mic is the way forward. I tried a number of options...
Cheap Amazon lapel mic for £1.49 cliped to rear plate:
http://youtu.be/LYKd_k3E8uk?hd=1
Audio Technica ATR-3350 clipped to rear plate:
http://youtu.be/V7Ltt2aJyJo?hd=1
Audio Technica is a good piece of kit but to be fair the sound from the amazon mic is not bad at all.

I assume you are using a remote with the camera?

Here is the exact mic I go from amazon £2.32 inc P&P.... cant grumble at that

Yes I have a GoPro Hero HD 2 with the WiFi backpac and remote. The ability to start and stop the camera is important to me as I really cannot be bothered to find the good bits from a 3 hour continuous video when it comes to editing. With the remote you can selectively record the exciting bits which means that when it comes to editing you all you need to do is trim the clips down... chuck in some transitions and you are done. Simples.

Hi DarrenI wedged my old tomtom 500 go in between windscreen and dash and it doesn't move. I then find the cigarette lighter wire sits in the groove in the dash and goes straight to the cigarette lighter and I can leave it like that and still open and close the door without messing with the lead. Thing is I never look at it because we never go the way we are supposed to anyway :-)

Richard. Where did you per order yours from , pro aviation? How much was it if you don't mind me asking

I already have the hero 3 and can add a backpack cases and remote for £99 or I can go for the go pro 3 at £359 but then still have to add a new size bacpac or will the old one fit? Which would add another £100 = about £450 and I still have the go pro 2 so that's a bit of a dilemma do I upgrade to new or update the old. I suppose if I have to ask then I can't afford it :-(Lester
