2010 XF diesel won't start

Engine stutter, loads of warnings like

gearbox fault
ABS fault

however it is demonstrating behaviour like a battery dying i.e. the electrics are behaving oddly and like there is not much power, shutting down and lights coming on in different orders etc. The time they stay on for has reduced every time I have tried to start. I reckon battery or control unit. Jaguar assist on their way... but I am 220 miles from home and it's Friday whoop!

Any thoughts?

well, jag assist has come out within 2hrs and i will get a replacement car if he can't fix it by the roadside...

Could be a knackered battery, they are very sensitive to voltage. My S type did weird things aftre being left for 2 weeks.

well it was flat battery but he can't work out why it discharged. Charged it again and it isn't losing charge, and working fine. Worst possible outcome really as I am now worrying when it's going to happen again
