Can anyone recommend a good pub or two in Ramsbottom where I can find traditional ale or at least a few non main stream ales ? etc ...

Thanks

Sorry can't remember any names but most of them will meet your criteria.
Only been once and that was to eat at Ramsons (recommended btw - go if you can).
Not sure if you like your Belgian beers, but think there's a bar specialising in them.

If you have a smart phone then try this app and start the ale trail.

Though saying that the only CM pub in Rammy is the Railway!

If you like your whisky the fishermans retreat is just outside.

There's an excellent real ale festival just started at the Hare and Hounds in Holcombe Brook (a mile away) and on for the next week/10 days or so. 50 or 60 guest ales with ridiculous names on.. Might pop in for a few myself tonight! drink

As mentioned, back 'in town' there's the First Chop with a small but interesting selection of european lagers and a nice 'front room' vibe. And the microbrewery near Morrisons is good too. Don't go anywhere else though, unless you enjoy the company of 'ruffians' punch

But really, the fact the Hare and Hounds fest happens to be on at the moment, thats the place to be tbh!

Cheers beer
