Changing your mind after resigning....
Discussion
I resigned 3 weeks ago and am working my 3 months notice.
I'm sure that it is because I am having to work my 3 months notice but I'm having second thoughts.
I've signed a contract with my new employer.
My current employer gave me a rise just before I resigned (before they had an knowledge of my intentions) that closes the gap between the two jobs!
I'm leaving a large (very large) company to join a small one.
Two questions:-
Where do I stand legally/contractually?
Should I stick to my guns?
ARGGHHHH!

If they've accepted your resignation then, legally, that's it.
However you could always approach your line manager and ask what the chances are of being able to withdraw your resignation. If they value you they'll try to keep you. Recruiting and training replacements is a ballache most managers would rather avoid.

Cold feet is understandable. You can't predict how this will turn out, do you believe in yourself? If so go for it.
Things wont be as rosy as they were painted at the interview at your new employer, thety never are in my experince so be realistic. It's possible you wont settle and then returning may be the best solution, or you will have to change again. Or do what I did , go independant.
