Yes i find it weird sometimes. I remember back in the day i used to add 2 or 3 made up older people 65+ with 15+ no claims on my policy when i was 17 this would dramatically lower the policy cost.
Plus i would never need to prove they existed as they would never be driving the car ! therefore they cant make a claim!!!!
I still know young drivers that still do this its a big loop hole in the system !.
I also know it is useful to sometimes get insured on another policy (if it is cheap enough) so so you can say you have use of another vehicle/car.

Hardly fraud is it. Fraud would be telling them you're a 70 year old woman with no point when you're actually an 18yo bloke with a drink driving conviction.What would you rather, someone tell a few white lies about some fictitious named drivers to get a price they can afford, or just not bother at all because the legalised racket want 40% of your income?

Would be interesting when the insurance company requests to do a conference call with the drivers and the DVLA to check the licence and its history..Plus i would never need to prove they existed as they would never be driving the car ! therefore they cant make a claim!!!!
