I wonder if someone may be able to help, I'm in the process of moving from London to Dunblane and am currently working in Edinburgh. All being good I should get the keys to the house in Dunblane with double garage on 16th November. The problem I have is that I have two cars in London to get up to Scotland, the Volvo will be getting driven up the day I move but I also need to get my '57 Chevy up to Scotland. The cheapest transport option is £800 so I plan to drive it up to Edinburgh on 4th November when I come up to work, leave it somewhere until I get the house in Dunblane and then drive it up a few days later.

Can anyone recommend somewhere I can store the car for a few weeks, preferably in the dry or at least safe from vandalism? The car is roughly 17 ft long and 6 ft 2 wide.

I stay in airdrie half an hour away from Edinburgh and I got room either in garage or secure camera covered quiet driveway where you can leave keys in and no one blinks an eye going near anything. Park here foc offer available for fellow yank owner

Thanks very much for the offer, I may be on to something in Edinburgh so I could take the car out while it's here, I'll come back to you if I need to smile

I always use Mark at Car Storage Scotland, their place is just a couple of minutes off the Edinburgh City Bypass, they have always got room in their warehouses (my car is currently in there just now, just for a week while I was on holiday as I don't have a garage at my home).

If Mark has time on his hands too he will let you have a look round anything interesting they have in, there are all sorts there from ancient Rollers to motorhomes, boats, cars awaiting restoration, they even have those bubble things that the cars can go inside and the bubble thing removes all the moisture out of it (to prevent further deterioration on cars awaiting resto I think!)

I've used Car Storage Scotland probably 8 or 9 times now and always been happy to leave my car in their care.

£800 from London to Dunblane sounds dear - I recently bought a car via a dealer in Edinburgh that had to be transferred from Surrey.

Cost from Surrey to Edinburgh was £265 + VAT - Falkirk Car Carriers.
