2012 what have you spent...

I sold last years winter bike last night to a mate and when I was cleaning it up started noticing the bits and pieces I had upgraded in my ownership. Wheels, cables, cassette, chainring.....

Therefore the quest to find out exactly how much I have spent this year from the likes of Wiggle, Merlin, eBay along with race entries and fuel to get to events begins. To make myself feel better I invite you to do the same, I am hoping some comfort will be gained knowing others have spent shedloads more than I have on my 'cheap' hobby

Edit to add... On the other hand..
Money saved is 40 quid per week on the train.. So man maths says I'm pretty much break even! Ish.

Its all good, with the money I have 'made' on the old bike I am quids in and can afford to lash out for a new lid and shoes, which also means this months 'fund' can be spent on some new winter kit.....I'm massively up on the deal.

Sold 2 bikes for £850. Buying 1 on cyclescheme for £400 over a year (incl the end of year deposit). So in profit & space in the garage!

No no no, can't even begin to calculate what it costs. Just get out and enjoy it and not worry too much about the costs. Plus being single means I can afford more than others ;-)

The problem is, the "to buy" list is still as long as ever (about another £3k):

Not quite sure how I justify this on a saving in tube fares of £100/month

Just on on 2 frames, one set of wheels and a power meter £5000 so would imagine the total figure must be £7000.

If you buy smart you can save thousands. The tt bike I'm building would have retailed at £8k or so, by time I've finished it will be well under half that.

Hmm, my take on the "advertisers dream" is he means that people who buy loads of kit are an advertisers dream, not Wiggo.

It's just the nature of the beast..... If you're new to cycling, there's a lot to buy. And if you're not, there a lot to update..
