When I go out in the car at night I regularly get people flashing me, or if I am behind them doing the hazards/fog light flashing. Indeed I eased past someone in lane 2 by going into lane 3 and after getting past he came charging up behind me flashing his headlamps.

Does anyone else get this - I think it is becuase the headlights are so intensely bright, even though they are adjusted correctly?

I Normally get the porsche salute (W anchor action) - quick flash back normally resolves both problems biggrin

The lights are brighter than any other car I have owned. Massively brighter than the Xenons on the BMW. After being in the Pork, the BMW is like driving by candlelight!

Last Thursday - 160 miles after dark - at least half-a-dozen flashes from oncoming traffic and 3-4 fog lamp/hazards in front of me.

I tried dogging but got my foot stuck in the roll cage - it was a complete disaster!

Sounds like they are misaligned. I had it on my M3 when I first bought it, wasn't obvious to me as the driver, but one light was a out and I was flashed frequently before I got it sorted

Yes, got this outta the box with the 7.2 GT3.

1) jumped in another car and had Lou drive behind/towards to experience the problem. Confirmed.
2) went to OPC to see if they were std height and legal. They were.
3) lowered them
4) came back in a weeks time as I couldn't drive more than 50mph at night!!!!
5) raised up a touch
6) now fewer flashes, and acceptable beam length. There is compromise here though. And for me other road users come first.

Hth.

Thanks Lucky - at least it is not just me then!

Apparently they are set correctly - but they do light up everything even on dipped beam - especially on the motorway as the lens creates a high beam of light for the 'hedge/verge/road sign' which on the M1 lights up lanes 1 and 2 at white van height!

This is one of the reasons why I chose a Porsche turbo over a V12V - you can actually drive the Porsche at night because you can see both the road and the dials.

I have noticed Audi's with xenon lights are also very bright on dipped ... Maybe its a german thing. Anyway if they are legal flash em back .. And if a hairy arse doesn't work try the main beam biggrin

I think getting your wedding tackle caught in the cross member would be more of a problem ...

I get this in my C63.......had them checked but all ok.

In my old LHD Saleen Mustang, I found the same with the Xenons in those but after getting flashed and then the foglight issues, had them checked and it was the fact the suppling dealer hadn't had the lights adjusted to driving/aiming the light to the left rather than the factory spec aiming to the right hand side verge.

I`ve been in front of my mates RS and his lights bounce as he goes over the bumps so it looks he is flashing me. Whether it is the self levelling system trying to keep up with the terrible roads or they need some sort of intervention from Porsche ( i.e. the level checked ) who knows.

Don't forget we also have the Porsche 'bobble'. Weight in the back and nose jumping about all over the place. Worse on GT's of course.
