What is the best base car to build something like this?

3.2 for reliability but the arch profiles will be wrong
So I could replace the front arches anyway for the backdate look. What is the best way to achieve the right look on the rear?A G50 car would give me wrong torsion bar covers too, so I would need to do something about this.
Thanks

Just throwing it out there, maybe start with a porsche?
so the fiesta I have is no good? You'll need to swap the wheels around - steering wheels to the back, then you've got the configuration right.
The rest will just be bodywork.

P.S. That Porsche is a beauty

Possibly the best looking 911 ever.
Why not just buy one thats been done to your (or close to) your requirements. It will be miles cheaper.
Unless its the process you enjoy of course...
MTR is right, back-dated 911s is a buyers market; rarely does someone want exactly the same car as the modifier. Why not just buy one thats been done to your (or close to) your requirements. It will be miles cheaper.

You need photographic evidence of the quality of work, or take it to someone like Early911 for a proper inspection before buying. There are a lot of cheap bodges out there.

I'm building something very similar right now. Mine is based on a '72 car that the previous owner had turned into a pretend RS. I'm taking back to closer to original but lighter. It's gulf blue, has a 3 litre engine, electronic ignition, running on webers., gives out about 230bhp, stainless exhaust, no heat exchangers....the noise is incredible! Light weight seats, no rears, cage, harnesses, engine cut-off. The car is being stripped right now, replacing the nasty GRP wings/duck tail and bonnet with real, new, steel, Porsche panels. Full repaint, still in gulf blue. It'll keep me amused for a few months...I need to source a 10k tach for it to finish it off.

Only kidding, like me, you love a "project". It's not the same buying one "off the peg".
