Hi Lads and Lassies
Just a reminder that for the club to survive and continue to prosper (like some one said recently the clubs social side appears to be on the up again) we need folks to step forward to fill the posts that I currently hold but at the end of this year will be vacant due to me retiring from the club.
So what are the posts you say well:-

Club Secretary this involves corresponding with the various show organisers (don't worry to much as this role is also assisted by the Social Secretary) and at the shows meeting and greeting members as they arrive on the stand (or organising a rota so everyone takes turns doing this). Your address is the one that appears on the front cover of Transmissions and you are also the main contact person for the kit car press etc.

Membership Secretary is responsible for providing prospective members with information on the club and the relevant "membership pack" so they can read up on what the club is about and hopefully fill in the membership form (The floppy disc with the basic layout comes with the job so the various letters etc can be printed off on a computer). Also responsible for entering members details into the yearly database (Lotus software)and sending the database files to the publisher for printing in Transmissions.

Transmissions Editor this position is basically what it says on the can you are responsible for providing an editorial for Transmissions (bi monthly) and receiving and arranging the various articles from members and companies who wish to tell the membership about their products. You will work along side the publishers to achieve an informative newsletter for the club membership.

Technical Secretary providing information regarding the parts and maintainence of the memberships vehicles. This position will be assisted by myself via the forums, technical web site and e-mail.You will hopefully be able to provide interesting articles on maintainence for Transmissions. A good mechanical knowledge is require for this position as any advice you provide needs to be accurate and ensuring safety is a priority regards work carried out on vehicles. I have various sketches and information on some of the popular "extras" owners ask for which I can provide to the new Technical Secretary if required.

Of course the above is a basic idea of what each post involves but the club really needs people to take these posts on the sooner the better so any assistance that is required can be provided before the new year starts.
