Car headunit swap help.

Hi folks,
My Land Rover Defender came with a headunit but with a missing fascia, so I removed the unit in the dash and replaced with a spare Kenwood unit that we had lying about the house. The original unit was also Kenwood, so it was a simple one out, one in exercise.
This spare unit I used was actually my girlfriends which came out of a previous car of hers and as her current car came with a unit in it, she never swapped them over, until now when her unit has started to play up. This means the removal of the Defenders unit for her and I have got my hands on a Blunkput unit off my Father which I plan to install.
This is where I'm pretty useless as it's not my area. The car I have run for the last 3 years, my Caterham hasn't got a car audio system, so it's all a bit posh for me!
So here are some snaps so I can hopefully be pointed to the right wiring harness.
Right, so my issues;
1. The aerial lead is different on this unit, so I need an adapter. I have seen a few around on the web but most appear to a 90 degree connection for the head unit end. It'd be easier for me to have a straight on adapter, but it's not the end of the world.
2. The leads coming out of the dash do actually plug straight into the headunit. There used to be an adapter for the previous unit. I ideally need an extension lead as opposed to an adapter. The current wiring is bulky with the inline connectors behind the plugs and causes the radio to not sit nicely in the dash. If I can get an extension piece for this then hopefully this'll be a better install as well as easier as they barely reach flush with the dash as it is.
If anyone could point me to a good priced set of the above, that would be ace.

Autoleads PC2-36-4 is a simple ISO extension cable which seems to be what you are after. I don't know of any non-right angle antenna plug adapters though.
Like you say that's standard DIN on the back of your Blaupunkt and wiring harness- but looks like someone has chopped off the front speaker wires- they're white/white-black for L and grey/grey-black R- but I guess as you were running it before with another head unit at least one pair of speakers work...

That's interesting. The speakers in the landy are in the headlining above and slightly back from the drivers and passengers heads. They are as standard on the bottom of the dash by the drivers and passengers door. I wonder if this is something to do with it?Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
