Trochanteric bursitis
Discussion
At least that's what my GP says is wrong with my hip/thigh.
My word it hurts and from what I can make our may well be with me for a long time. Anyone else come across this and in particular any streches or exercises that will help?
He suspects that it may have been triggered by a crach I had in the Radical in July as side impact on the hip when in a 'bucket seat', (his words) can trigger it. Not so sure about that myself but getting in an out of the Alfa and my little 306 cabrio hurts like a hurty thing more often that not.

Glad it's not just me....in the nicest way though. Don't really wish this on anyone else.
Mine is the left hip and in fact sleeping on my right side is less painfull than on my back (or left). Seems to 'hang' the hip in the right place. It's just moving when I wake up that is the issue!
I had read that a cortizone jab might do the trick. I have been referred for some physio initially. I'll let you know if I learn any exercises.

I have had this too, in both hips. Went to an osteopath and had acupuncture, I resisted it at first but it really did help with the pain. Also consider ice pack on the affected hip, 10 mins at a time three or four times a day. I know this may sound stupid too, but Ive started wearing those wobbly fitness shoes MBT's, Sketchers do them as well, and they have eased the pain no end.
