am i right in thinking that michelin pilot super sports are better than the pilot sport 2's?

if the fronts are running PS2's but the rears need replacing, i'm guessing it's OK to put some new super sports on the rear and then change the fronts to super sports when they need changing??

thanks very much in advance

Should be fine. I had worn rears and half worn fronts but decided to change the whole lot for PSS.

This is exactly what I'm doing this week. My rear PS2's are shot so I am replacing them with super sports. I will change the fronts to super sports when they wear out, still plenty of tread left on them.

Ordered my rears today from a local supplier, to be fitted in the next few days. £278 each fitted for 265/35 19s for my 1M, not a bad price I think.

have they arrived yet? keen to hear what they're like as someone told me that putting supersports on the rear whilst having PS2s on the front would make it handle like a pig.....but i couldn't see why? i'm sure it'll be fine for a few thousand miles until the fronts get replaced with supersports.

are supersports definitely the better tyre? if so....seems daft sticking to PS2s if you can replace them in stages, as it were.

thanks

It would be no more porcine than having 5 year old OEM tyres on the front and a brand new OEM tyres on the rear.

my thoughts too; but the front tyres aren't the original tyres, i think the fronts are the 3rd set

So there would be even less difference - which is a good thing.
