Evening all,
The mrs and i are ready for some new luggage ie a new normal sized case each. I not really sure on the what budget is but I would guess about £100ish for 2 cases. I so ideas please (ps if they are sd by John Lewis that would be even better as we have some vouchers from there from when we got married last year)
We don't really use big cases that much due to flying air most of the time but we're not off to CUBA at the end of November.

Thanks in advance

Matt

'Fraid you probably need more like £100 for John Lewis. For £10 try market stalls. Sorry

Sorry I did actually mean £100!
I wouldn't expect a £10 case to make it back to the house from the shop I would buy it from!

Samsonite for 'traditional' case or Eastpack for 'bag on wheels'. Budget £70-100 per item for decent quality - should last ages.

We do some work for a company that makes baggage handling systems - their view was that Samsonite cases always lasted longer in the development/test phases that anything else.

Bear in mind these cases (fully loaded) were running around the system 18-24 hrs a day for weeks/months on end and not just a couple of times a year.

In my old job I was in a group that traveled the world constantly. Every person in that group had Samsonite luggage. I do not think it was a coincidence. I still travel but now for pleasure and I still use Samsonite. I got them from the out let at Woodbury commons NY for a bargain price. There is something very pleasing about watching people struggle with their crap luggage in the air port while you effortlessly glide along because you bought the 4 wheel spinners. It removes one element of stress which can be useful when trying to figure out where you are, where you are going and what language you are meant to be reading. (I once got drunk on the same night in Tokyo and New York having started the day in Bangkok.)
