I still appear to have almost a full tank of fuel which had the correct amount of "stabil" in it from last year. (December)

A)Just top it up, maybe just 2 or 3 gallons and add stabil for that amount.

B)Or top it up and add stabil for a full tank.

C)Or should I syphon out the old fuel, refil with fresh and stabil that.

It's a CIS 280 so I really don't want problems with varnish in the costly bits.

I know I should drive and use the fuel, then refil it etc etc, but I really don't have much interest in driving it, if I did it wouldn't still have last years gas in itsmile
(but that doesn't mean it doesn't deserve the best care)

Jeff,

In Florida we don't need to winterize. I assume you are using pump fuel with up to 10% ethanol; in our climate this is known to start deteriorating after six weeks. I use Stabil on my boat, but was told that it doesn't help much with the ethanol problem.

Surely you can drain the fuel by disconnecting a hose before the pump, or even the 5/8" hose between the tanks. (And use the fuel in your other car)

Or move to Florida!

Wilf.

If you top up with fresh gas and add stabil it should be fine. Just run it for a good ten minutes.

here in New Zealand we DO get frosts and horrid weather, but not much snow. I don't bother with stabilser either. I rackon as long as it sits in a reasonably proected shed/garage, it should be OK. Not had a problem laying mine up for 6 months, charged the battery and it fired up first time...
