Auto signing posts

Ted,
Is there a simple way to automatically sign a post? If not could this be an enhancement sometime?
To explain, if I were to post on a thread, when I submit that post the website would automatically footnote with something specific to me. My name, my web site, etc. sourced from my profile.

Ted doesn't like sigs, and it seems nor do most people on this board when the idea's come up before as it'll look like those stupid sigs with pictures and pointless meaningless sayings.
Can't think though why.
Nige.

Well you shouldn't practise tight rope walking with running chainsaws underneath the wire then!
Sigs are sometimes amusing the first time you see them but invariably a PITA on all subsequent occasions. I reckon the personal information is best left in the profiles, where you can see it if you want but it's not shoved in your face every time you read a post. There's also dialup users to consider.

I don't see the need for them really. ![]()
Agreed - one of the 'other' forums I visit has them and it is exceedlingly annoying.
Perhaps we should have a signature thread where people can post what they would have.
I'm with Ted and Big M on this... waste of time, space and resources...
Why have a signature, when we've got profiles..?
