With the usual lack of fanfare and PR, the Nürburgring management have released the Nordschleife public session ticket prices for 2013. They are as follows:
Lapticket prices for Nordschleife Touristenfahrten from January 1st, 2013:

1 lap: 26,- € (same price as 2012)
4 laps: 97,- € (€2 more than 2012)
9 laps: 202,- € (€5 more than 2012)
25 laps: 499,- € (€9 more than 2012)

Season ticket price:
Unlimited laps: €1475,- € (€30 more than 2012)
(N.B. The Jahreskarte is per driver, and cannot be shared)

The magic number for 2013 is 72... if you're planning on driving any more laps than that, then you should just buy a year ticket!

Appears pricey on the surface but for distance covered versus cost it's a lot cheaper than doing a trackday at Goodwood....for example.

Nine laps at the ring covers 117 miles for about £160 which is about the same distance you'd cover at Goodwood in a sessioned day for almost double the price.

I know traveling costs, hotels etc add to this and Goodwood is 10 miles up the road from me...but still, I know where I'd rather go.

Thanks for that. When do they normally release the schedule of Touristenfahrten dates for the year to come (ie 2013).

Are weekdays that much less busy than weekends ? they normally only run evenings in the week though.

They tend to issue first half year dates around end of December time. Weekends are always a no no if you want a quiet track. You are always best to go mid week. Also this time of year is exceptionally good as the weather can still be good.

Last year November it was thick fog yet the track was still open so I managed to do 5 straight laps without traffic. It was certainly an experience :-)

Avoid Easter weekend at all costs!!!!

I went early April and managed a couple of hassle free laps on a weekend. It was bitterly cold and certain places had small amounts of fog but such an experience with no traffic!

Or closed due to fog/ice like it has been in late autumn in the past.

and how right you were! there was really dense fog over the two mornings, and i didn't have time to hang around till late afternoon to see if it cleared (doubt it cleared by closing time). still a nice trip though, i do like germany. 5 porsches with spanish plates also turned up in the foggy gloom.
