gaming headphones and 5.1/7.1dolby add on processor advice?
Discussion
I have a ps3, I run wireless sony headphones with the transmoitter linked to the ps3 via the component cables. the sound is pretty good for gaming, some how is sounds similar ot surroud sound although i know it cannot be.
A freind of mine is trying to sell me turtle beach ear force DSS 5.1/7.1 dolby processor that hooks up to the ps3 via optical cable and this would then connect to my wirless transmitter via a 3.5mm headphone cable.
can the transmitter beam surround sound to my headphones wirelessly or will it no be surround sound as the processor and transmitter are linked by a 3.5mm headphone cable?
I thought 5.1 or 7.1 would not be possible from a 3.5mm headphone cable, only via hdmi or optical cable, plus the device emmitting the sound would have to have 5 or 7 speakers to be able to reproduce 5.1 or 7.1 dolby.
Is it a load of rubbish and just an mini amplifier?
link to the device is :
