Car insurance question

Dear all

We have only one car but can anyone tell me if it matters if my wifes name is on the V5 but I am the main policy holder and she is a named driver ?

Yes our main car is in my name, but mrs is main driver on my policy as I had another car at the time utilising my own ncd.

When I was broking, I was told the policyholder should be the person whose name the V5 is in (something to do with insurable interest, I think). The policyholder does not have to be the same as the main driver.

Well if the policy asks 'is the policy holder the registered keeper of the vehicle' then you are not complying with that if she's just a named driver.

They are complying if they answer the question with 'no'.

There is a yes/no tickbox for this as well as a dropbox for who is the legal owner.I got a quote online but I struggle to trust the results.
