Jim,
A few questions if you don't mind...
1) Which one did you get?
2) Which size?
3) For the sizes given, are they measured at the outer diameter?
4) How tall are you?
5) How has it affected the visibility of the gauges?
I ask about your height w/respect to the visibility question since I would like to get an idea of what I can expect with my S4S. I'm just short of 6ft, and I can't see the telltales without ducking down a bit with the GM steering wheel.
Funny side note: A friend of mine has a Saturn, and he has the same steering wheel I do. I'm thinking "great, I have a Saturn steering wheel..." And he says "Cool! I have a Lotus steering wheel!"

Bill,
I have the Daytona which is 340mm outside diameter. I am 6' tall also and have no problem seeing the telltales or gauges. You can't see all of every gauge without moving your head slightly but it's no problem.
As Ernest and others have said it's one of the best mods you can do to the car. I've really heard no negatives from anyone about the wheel other than no Lotus logo. Somebody just needs to take the initiative and have something made. hint, hint.......

The wheels are nice but my biggest concern is the adapter for the spline. The steering shaft is a tapered spline and very hard to fabricate. I purchased a Momo wheel with the Lotus badge in the center and it looked great but the Momo adapter did not fit correctly because the spline did not taper. A total waste of money. Who makes the adapter ? Do you have to modify/remove the signal cam assem ?
Considering cutting the spline adpter from the original airbag wheel.
Thx

P.S. She just rolled 100'000 Kms
Runs like new !

The adapter was duplicated from one that we obtained from Motoconcept and was designed specifically for the Esprit. It is machined from solid T6061 aluminum by a large fabrication facility that is accustomed to doing mil spec work.
You are correct that there is a slight taper on the column but not on the adapter. Once the tensioner nut is applied with the correct torque specifications there is no play whatsoever in the connection.
It is not necessary to remove or modify the signal cam assembly to fit this adapter as it mates perfectly.
I do not know if it would work with the Momo wheel that you have if that is your intention since it was designed to mate with a Raid airbag wheel.
If you would like to purchase one I would be happy to refund your money if you are not 100% satisfied with it as long as it is returned in the same condition as you received it.
Contact me off list if you need any more info.
Cheers,
Jim Knowles

Three comments...
1. Looks Pretty Good
2. Would rather have it in silver (to match the aluminum accents)
3. Would rather have it about 50%-60% smaller (sometimes less is more).
- or -
If anyone knows a source for custom leather work, I would rather have a piece that could recover the airbag that has the Lotus Logo tooled in (like the headrests on the anniversary 2002 cars)
