944S2 engine capacity

The books seem to say the "3 litre" engine is 2990cc. My cabrio's V5 says 2969cc! Have I been shortchanged? I have also seen 2983cc quoted!

Mine's listed as 2969 on the reg document. It's a 3 litre to me, as that sounds better than 2926 cc for some reason.
