But would it be possible to agree a kind of NSFW tag for this forum but for Sad Stories, something like EC for Emotive Content or something?
I do appreciate the stories that people put up about their pets last days or whats happening and I understand the need to share, but I would rather read them when I am at home rather than at work or when I am in the right frame of mind, cos I do find them moving and upsetting and being a large lad sitting in work looking like the sky has just fallen in, makes me look a bit daft
If I am being a selfish t
t sorry was just a thought

t sorry was just a thoughtI don't read them. I love my dog and these kind of stories/posts just remind me that he won't be around for long and that I will eventually have to lose him. Makes me sad
I do feel for the owners of whose pets are going on the "final walk" its a very sad thing and you have my deepest sympathy.

its part and parcel of sharing your life with a furry-buddy, yes, its sad, but you do the best for them, they bite you, fetch the ball, push you out of bed, dump on your garden and curl up by you ..... its a 2 way street

As long as the titles are obvious "Final Walk" etc., I don't have an issue with them.
I do struggle to read the threads, we came very close to losing our 4 year old Spaniel this month and reading threads like that brings it all back BUT having said that, the amount of support I got on here and another forum made a huge difference to coping with what I was going through so whilst I struggle to read the sick dog threads I'm acutely concious of the support that they give to the poster so I try to force myself to read them*.

- sorry, really needed some punctuation in there!
I have every sympathy with the "Final walk" poster (Rasputin) , today is the dogs last day and my thoughts are with dog and owner
I still get choked up over our last dog who passed away in my arms having a seizure or stroke at 2am, no vet for her, no gentle sleep, no painless end, just an hour of shaking, whimpering and crying, then another hour afterwards waiting for the vet to arrive and take her away with me sitting with her on my lap, she was 12 YO and 100% fit, so it came as a great shock after having her from a pup.
Weve got three rescues now so thats three hard times to worry about but not for a while i hope
