Lexus IS250 - Are they any good?
Discussion
Hi guys,
I am after a car for my wife. Something mid level premium with 4/5 doors. I have only just stumbled across the IS250.
I have looked at 130i BMW's and A3 3.2 sportbacks but most in my budget seem to be a touch ragged around the edges.
I know this is a saloon and likley to be a touch more refined than the above but what are they like to drive? What sort of car can I expect to get for around 6k? Any major problems I should be aware of?
Anybody got one and care to share ownership experiences?
Best,
Charlie

Hi, sorry for the late reply. We had an IS250 for a couple of years, possibly the most surprising car I've ever driven......superb steering and ride, handling way better than it has any right to be, just quick enough to keep you interested. Ours was an auto, not usually my thing, but it suited the car. It was faultlessly reliable, as you'd expect. It was replaced with an equally faultless, but significantly quicker IS-F.
Hi, I thought it was good on fuel, without being able to remember exactly what the figures were........however, anything would seem good compared my Evo and the IS-F we replaced the IS with!
The rear seats didn't split on ours, there's a ski hatch arrangement for slotting longer loads through.
