Sorry if a repost but can't see a recent discussion...

Two Gatso style cameras have appeared between Tuesday and Wednesday this week on the A64 near the A19 Selby/McArthur Glenn junction. One is York side of the bridge over the River Ouse (quite well hidden behind a tree as well!), the other about 200 yards further down on the other side of the bridge!

Signed as not working yet, not entirely sure what they're all about.

So, you're implying that you went through them above the speed limit to test 'em out?

hehe

Saw these yesterday, bad news for york folk is this! As far as im aware they are the only ones in york? Stupid place to put them aswell, numerous people braking on a duel carriageway with 70mph speed limit!
I think there will be uproar and angry torch bearing mobs!

Ah, that makes some sense. They are stupidly close together for anything else. I thought they might be to do with the Ouse bridge's speed rating as they are either side but the cameras are only Eastbound so that didn't really work.

What work are they doing, do you know?

According to the local parish council its just whilst the bridge repair work is being carried out:

If you've driven over that bridge you'll now it makes a bit of a thump when you hit it. Thats what the work is to get rid of.
