Mainstream cars you wanted when you were 21.

OK, forget the flash cars you have no hope in hell of affording, running or insuring, what car did you want when you were 18-21 and was it in some way related to the car you had?
My car around that age was a 4 door Viva 1800 but there wasn't a day that didn't go by I wished it was a Firenza/Magnum 2300 Coupe.

The 159 was the last I think.

I wanted a red nova gte back then. I loved the look of them and had driven an sr so liked the handling. At 21 interior fit and finish wasn't high on my list if wants!
I ended up buying a calibra when I left uni and for a job. I've not had a vauxhall since!

I've always loved how these things look and wanted one when they were released in 2000, I was 15 then. Still wanted one at 21 so I bought one in 2007 at 22.
Unfortunately it was a case of "never meet your heroes" because the car was a dog, it was a low mileage (45k on the clock at 7 years old), well looked after early example. It was s

Never again, and it put me right off Vauxhalls.When I was 18 I had a lowly 1.1 GE Peugeot 309 on a 'D' plate. 55bhp of sheer power from that rattly Talbot-Simca OHV engine. It wasn't the coolest car in the car park.
I often dreamed of owning a red 309 GTi, thinking about how awesome it would be to have that 1.9 litre engine under the bonnet pumping out a massive 130 bhp. How all the girls would like me and want to go out for a spin in my awesome hot hatch.
16 years later, I actually bought one...
It is a bit rough to be honest, but it's going for a respray and a fettle and then I should be the proud owner my dream car (when I was 18). I'm sure the girls won't be that impressed though to be honest...

I had a vauxhall caviller ( well I had 5 in a row from 18 - 23) as I was a rep very very depressing !!
Wanted a tvr 400se or 911 of any description ! As what I perceived as mainstream I.e not Ferrari, Aston etc etc
Had first chimaera at 26 ( after starting own business) the a couple of tvr's and then 9 x 911's in a row.
Never wanted a BMW but have had several of them as they do a Job
