Can anybody shed any light on what this seat is? I just picked it up on ebay for £25!

I had a similar seat in a 1970s Vauxhall Viva racing saloon , the seat was made by Corbeau .

I've contacted Corbeau this morning and they've confirmed that this isn't one of their seats unfortunately (although its similar to the GT8 seat the body on that doesn't wrap around the back of the headrest as it does on this seat).

Anyone else got any further ideas? The seller said he thought it came out of an old Cortina. . .

Looks very similar to a Paddy Hopkirk seat my dad had in his old TVR Vixen. His had a fabric finsih, not the vinyl but the style looks similiar. I've no photographs but a little google came up with this:-

Also, the sub-frame on yours looks elongated and low at the front, suggesting that it's off a classic mini with the rear fixing off the cross-memeber. Does is tilt (2 door car) or is it fixed (saloon)?

Paul - your post made me start searching for Paddy Hopkirk seat images and this in turn led me to the Terry Hunter/Huntmaster brand of seats.

I'm now pretty certain its the seat arrowed in this pic

Its called the Easy rider in the Terry Hunter/Huntmaster range.

Actually it looks like a late model as the seat back is a slightly different shape on the earlier one.

Here is another pick showing the later range

It is certainly very similar to a TVR Vixen seat except for the headrest surround being slimmer (mine has its original vinyl finish as below). I'll give you £26 for it!

First thing I thought when I saw it, although I've never had those in mine.

They look nice, are they comfortable? smile

They are not too bad, although they creak a bit. I have an extra piece of foam matting under the base to bolster it.

I could do with another to put in place of my drivers seat as it has a couple of nicks in it and I would like to swap it out and keep it original.

Well I'll be spending enough on mine in the coming months, so I'll stick to my Cobra Clubmans for the time being. smile

Absolute bargain at £14.28 - don't suppose anyone knows where you can still get them at that price . . .
