We're up at a family party in Penrith this weekend (we're not staying there...) but are staying in a village nearby. It's about 30 minutes to Keswick from there from what I can see.

We have Sunday free all day, but looking at the weather it's looking a bit miserable - we'll have my 3 year old and my 10 month old boys with us, what is there to do in the area when it's wet? We had planned on getting a boat trip up Ullswater, is it worth it if it's chucking it down? Also, any family friendly recommend places to eat for lunch would be much appreciated!

The Pencil Museum????? That has to be one of the most uninteresting visits I have ever made.

Try the "Cars of the Stars".
Avoid the James Bond museum - was a rip off last time I went. V Expensive for what it was

The 'cars of the stars' museum was the only interesting thing about Keswick when I went there a few years back, I *think* I read it closed a year or 2 ago though?
