Mobile pre-purchase inspection (not Peter Morgan)

I’m looking for a specialist for a pre-purchase inspection. Ideally someone who can travel as I can’t find anyone close enough in West Sussex to take it to myself (and the seller is a little reluctant to let me take the car for the best part of a day to travel somewhere). I particularly want to diagnostics and data from the car reading (over-revs etc)


Diablo Engineering have been recommended by the seller, but they seem to be a one man outfit and the recommendation from the seller makes me sceptical (although he sounded like he knew his stuff and was a nice enough bloke)


I called Peter Morgan but it’s too far for them to travel

RAC and AA seem to not be worth the paper they will be written on

Paragon don’t really do them anymore

I'll be in this position soon - just started looking for a 997 but the ims/rms/bote score stories scare me to death. What's the SP..do you generally just take a chosen car to the speialst that's nearest ? What's the damage for a full blown inspection and how long does it take ? Peter Morgan is just up the road by the looks of it..

Any advice appreciated..

This may be a silly question. If a specialist like Peter Morgan (or any others) had just inspected the same car for someone else, would they tell you and only charge a smaller fee for the report. Or would they keep quiet and do the whole thing again?

I looked at a Phil Raby car the other day. Seemed decent but decided against it. Would feel a bit odd asking him to check out someone else's car now

I can see why he won't let me take the car for 6 hours to drive somewhere... And this guy from Diablo is apparently Ex carrera performance and has all the relevant equipment.
