No love for the transit?

I thought there would be thread about this already. No love for the people who make your cars?

Ford plans to close two UK factories with the loss of 1,400 jobs. The Southampton Transit van factory (making vans for the last 40 years) and the stamping plant at Dagenham, Essex will shut.

So after 40 odd years of British transits, which is an icon in its own right (remember the whole backbone of britian thing), I wonder how the new turkish vans will hold up.

It's also the end of vehicle building by Ford in the UK, after 100 years or so.
