Only had the S2 for about 4 weeks now, sorted out engine only running on 5 by replacing fuel injector and am now setting about the bodywork and interior.

Anyway, removed drivers side door today, not straight forward, hinges turned out to be a rusty mess both top and bottom and more chance of being raped by the pope than undoing any of the bolts, so decided to cut through the M10's using a hacksaw blade.

Balanced the door on a trolley jack and set to work, cut through the bottom bolt first and then the top and bingo, door off. Then drilled through what was left of the bolt thread and used a stud remover to undo the remains, all went well on the bottom item with no movement or damage to the bobbin, different story on the top one, as I was drilling through the remains of the bolt the drill bit jammed and the bobbin spun, hence the "bugger" in the title.

Used a dremel to route out around the bobbin and removed it without making to much of a mess or damaging the bobbin and was then able to remove remains of bolt.

Managed to get the M8's undone without any problem by soaking the threads in penetration fluid and leaving for a couple of hours, you can get to the underside of the bobbins and threads once the door is off.

Wondering now how to resin back into place the top bobbin, obviously the resin wants to obey gravity and run out of the hole, can I just use a thicker epoxy glue? Will it be strong enough?

Isopon P40 might work well as it has glass strands in it.

I've never had much success with p40, buying a fibreglass kit with mat etc I have had some joy with. Resin alone will not do it you need the glass strands in one form or another.

Just done mine, used P40, perfect, make sure there is no dust, oil or rust in hole, use a long threaded bar in the bush to get the angle correct, test it through the door with bushes in door bolted in, because they may not be exactly in line

Resin doesn't stick to selotape. You can use this to hold the resin/glass in place.
