I'm looking forward to it, always a good turnout from the Clubs, but friends are saying "No" they won't be there this year, they say

- too expensive
- too expensive to park
- too crowded

Am I alone in flying the flag for a day out in the second city?

Are you a doubter or a confirmed visitor?

I'll be there Thursday Friday and Sunday, mostly around the Porsche Club GB stand.

Love it, been every year for the last 5 or so with my brother and dad, always go on the SBDRs as well. This year I can't though, working all weekend and new baby at home...

Have missed just one in the last 10 years.

I expect I will still moan - Parking too expensive, food is rubbish, too few clubs/too many dealers, no 'proper' autojumble any more. - Bet I'll buy tickets for 2013 though!

I think of the NEC show as a sort of pilgrimage to the hobby.

going on the saturday with my son and my dad. Not paying the parking, so we're both parking in a nearby village (free car park) and get the 5 minute train journey in. Bring a packed lunch, and its (strangely) a shorter walk then parking at the nec. But I'm not telling you where!!

I'm aslo looking for a club to join as my wife thinks I should as a hobby... biggrin

I'll be going Friday. If you come to the Leeds City College stand I'll probably be mooching around there as I am a full time restoration student and I think they are doing some demonstrations again. Not sure whether they are roping us in or not yet!

No. I've been for a few years on the club stand, but I wouldn't pay the full price, not even sure I'd pay the reduced club price, never mind the parking cost!

It's two days for me, one spent on my club's stand and the other with my O/H as she wanders around buying my birthday (later in November) and Christmas presents. I drop hints as we walk, she disappears for five minutes and comes back with bag - the steering wheel shaped one last year was the best yet smile

I don't think I'm going this year, if I do it will be on the friday. This sounds stange considering the subject but when I go I see very little new (old) stuff to look at.

I've been going for several years and really enjoy myself. Too expensive? Come on, it's £20 and you can usually get a club discount code on the net somewhere which gives you a £5 discount. Where else can you get a days entertainment or show for £20? Come on! If you like classic cars I'd say you can't miss it. As for parking I've tried all sorts, parking for free at a station a few stops down the line or using the Birmingham Int. station, what is it, a fiver? Can't remember but if you want cheap parking there are alternatives...
