A glimmer of sense, or more bulls**t?

I never thought I'd speak out in favour of more traffic police but how many times have you watched some fool doing something stupid on the road and wished there was an unmarked plod who would suddenly turn on the blues & twos and nick him?
This at least attempts to take us away from the present direction of "you can do anthing you like, no mater how suicidal/homicidal as long as you do it within the speed limit because the only way you will ever get nicked is by a speed camera"

Yes, but look at the picture - a policeman loading a speed camera - and the caption "Speeding is the main cause of road deaths".
Nothing about stupidity, carelessness, tailgating, driving beyond the conditions...
Sure, but that's just the BBC being their usual sheep-like self and spouting the party line. The actual content of the story is more interesting.
It's chocabloc with contradictions and testament to the fact that the BBC are biased and clueless and every different high up copper - be that in the force or one of the Police bodies (ACPO, PSO etc.. ) have their own political axe to grind...
I know that Brunstrom is a total space cadet, but how does one explain our roads being the 'least safe in Europe for children' and yet overall the safest - significantly more so that France or any of the Mediterranian (sp?) countries?
Well I'd say that it's down to the fact that in the UK many choose to festoon their children in bubble-wrap rather than teach them proper road-safety & common sense..
Then when they are let out on their own, sans bubble-wrap, they haven't got a scooby about how to cope. Also, perhaps the arrogant anti-car claptrap they're taught leads them to believe that they can step out into the road wherever they like and cars will just stop..
Sounds like just more arseholes spouting meaningless shit to me I'm afraid..
