Anyone else prefer 4 door M3's to the coupe?

I must be getting old...

The M3 coupe is a beautiful car indeed, one of the nicest modern designs. But I saw a black 4 door M3 the other day with black wheels, and my god it looked good! For some reason it looked so much meaner than the coupe, like a group of people were about to do a bank job or something..

I had always thought the coupe looked better, then my opinion just flipped.

The 4 door is a pretty good looking aggressive car, but the coupe just looks the business.

I've always preferred the rear end of the E90, but the overall shape of the E92 is better.

I'm in agreement. Saloon M3 = the one to buy. Practicality and convenience are far more important than good looks. This is especially true when considering the purchase of a BMW M3. The saloon car is just as quick, AND if you want to sit in the back you can get there via your own set of doors.

With that in mind, the coupe version is hard to recommend. The E9x coupes do look a bit better... but not THAT much better.

I'd take the four door over the coupe too.

Only a Touring version would be better to be honest. Given the popularity of the RS4 Avant and the C63 estate I'm amazed BMW haven't produced the M3 Touring for the UK market.

Saloon for me is just much nicer looking than the coupe. I'd actually consider one if ever selling the M5 Touring.

Much prefer the saloon, same goes for most generations of 3-Series. I still get stick for having a 330i Saloon and not the Coupe, 20 year old with a family car my mates say.

I prefer the saloon, I think the convertible is the ugliest car they have ever made, it just shades the coupe, the saloon is better but no looker, the m3 just does nothing for me in E90 form.

Dont like the 4door or coupe, but.... If i had to choose then it would have to be the coupe.

Not a fan of the coupé, I much prefer the saloon.

I'd rather a coupe if I'm honest. That bonnet bulge is a great looking bit of design though. I presume it was done to give the necessary clearance for the top of the engine? Even if it's purely aesthetic, I still think it's ace.

Only seen one like this in the metal, and it looked fab.

slightly O/T but i was thinking this too, then i looked under the bonnet of a coupe... and the engine is about a foot from the top! i think its for aesthetics, looks great though

I do quite like the M3 in saloon form, not sure if I like more than the coupe. About the same for me
