Where and when for an Autobahn Vmax run?

Anyone got any tips on the best stretch of Autobahn to try and hit Vmax, and the best time of year, day & week to do it?

My thoughts so far are late April / early May (avoiding Bank Holidays), around 4:30am, somewhere away from major population centres.

Not really interested in opinions as to the sanity of the idea, more practical suggestions.

I think there was a similar thread on here 2 or 3 months ago, so you could search for that.

It also referred to the EVO Magazine June 2012 issue (No. 170), which featured a Lotus Carlton and current BMW M5. You can buy a back issue from EVO website, or maybe someone on here can help out (I have binned my copy). The section of Autobahn they used in the Western part of Germany seemed well regarded as relatively safe and used by others for top speed runs.
