Name that colour...

Probably desert moondust, but it could be a Nissan coluor whose name I don't know.
Desert moondust is an "oily" flip/chameleon/reflex/whatever job, isn't it? This looks like a plain metallic/pearl (and will hence cost me much less!
) Getting close with that Nissan colour - it's "Le Mans sunset" (the 350Z colour is, anyway)... does look quite a close match in some pictures, but I think the it's a bit more "orangey" - too much red in the paint, maybe?

It's a kind of copper, JSG. You're right, it was used on Volvos, and on Nissans, on their latest SUVs. It's fashionable, all the more reason not to put it on a car. Too glitzy for my taste.
LA, my friend... just be grateful I'm not going for reflex blancmange, or something...

Woohoo! God bless the Internet & deductive reasoning. OK, I've been doing some detective work...
That picture was off an advert for a driving weekend by Bonne Route. So, going to their website, and looking at the gallery, I spot another couple of pictures of it, including this lovely one:
One of the pics had on it the reg plate. So, off to the RAC datacheck site I go, and find that plate's now on a T350T. Not many of those about yet, right? So onto Pistonhead's "member's cars" directory, and a listing of all the T350Ts. Then we've just got to find a T350T owner who's had a Tuscan previously, and has the initials "GDB" (off the plate). A couple of dozen mouse-clicks later, and it's PH member "qualityscrew": www.pistonheads.com/members/showCar.asp?carId=11822
Will hopefully have the proper colour name and be able to stop this guessing game some time soon...

I sure can. Personally prefer the silver (and think the paint'll match portland grey interior perfectly), but here you go:
ooooh, I feel tempted all of a sudden, wonder if twin black Cobraesque stripes, blue tinted cans and centre caps would be too over the top. That's the damn trouble with Tuscans, they make your imagination run away with you

Stripes down the side or the bonnet? And dark or light blue cans? Tinted tips, or full length? More details, and I can spend a couple more minutes in Photoshop... especially now I've got a few more photos of this car.

2 up the length of the car, offset tip to tail, dark blue cans and caps

A couple more to tempt you...
Cheers... would've posted that, but don't like putting pics up of peoples cars with their number plates on, for the very reason you get devious people like me tracking them down.
Found myself a C70 Volvo today in that colour and parked up alongside it to get a good comparison. Only problem is that with my car being freshly polished, and it being a luuurverly day, the current blue looked great....
