...is the slowest car in the group.....the Toyota GT86.

Loved by all the testers, including ex F1 Racer Jonathan Palmer, the Toyota beat off some stiff competition. Its the first time in the competition's 24 year history that the slowest car on the day has won! Is this a sign that there is a backlash growing against over powered, over grippy modern performance cars and a feeling that something you can just enjoy at modest speeds is more relevant today....the new 991 Carrera S was way down in 6th placed.....

They were very positive indeed about it as well.

It's also good to see a mainstream manufacturer making a coupe. For all we praise the 3 series or 1 series, there are many (my Dad included - in the reasonable disposable income, kids grown up segment) that want something more special looking than a repmobile.

Edit: I also enjoyed the issue more than usual (I don't usually buy it) - has it got better recently?

Went out in a GT86 yesterday. I was expecting it to be pretty slow and, while it's not the fastest car ever built, it's got an "adequate" amount of power. Handled brillantly too, really did feel like an evolution on the RWD roadster-type segment. Only criticism I'd have is that it was a little too quiet, a sports exhaust (nothing too offensive) would go down well.
