little guidance please

Quick bit of advice please, all other factors aside do you think buy a car with 53k miles thinking that any niggles would have shown them selves and been sorted. Or do you buy a 19k mile car hoping niggles had been found and as with most other cars low mile is better. All advice welcomed. Cheers Matt
Low miles can sometimes mean much time has been spent in garages/laid up/problems being sorted.
I would rather have a more used example and, if possible, a known PH car.
I did exactly this 30 months ago and have had a brilliant reliable car.
They all have a few little niggles that crop up from time to time, but hopefully will be cheap to fix.

They could be like chalk and cheese.
I had a similar dilemma, 23k S-reg or 60k 51 plate when I bought mine. The older one was better in every respect.
You're probably sick of hearing 'buy on condition' but it's right. 53k might have had an easy life, 19k seen plenty of track action and tough love every time it goes out. Need to see, drive and poke around both. They similar age?

Hi Bobbins, yes they are both 97 cars one a P Low miles 2 previouse owners and one an R, High miles and 6 previouse owners. I see you went Low miles with yours but even though you said high drove better??I had a similar dilemma, 23k S-reg or 60k 51 plate when I bought mine. The older one was better in every respect.

Thanks for the replies, been to see one of the cars today and the decision was made very quickly. Two things sealed it. First was when the seller told me it was a range rover engine, he then fired it up and started rev the engine from cold trying to impress me. Second it didn't sound, smell or feel right. The lobsided exhausts didn't help either. One was low before test drive and then after scraping on the ground was higher after test drive. Roll on car 2, oh yes and the smoke coming through the hand brake lever into the car was a special touch.
