Pilgrim, Chesil, Tygan- what should I do?
Discussion
I am considering buying a replica Speedster and wondered if anyone has an opinion on what I should look for? In particular, the Chesil Speedsters seem to be well liked, but there aren't many reviews on Pilgrim Speedsters on the net. Also, are the engines reliable as I have heard mixed reports?
Any information would be helpful.

Chesils and Tygans are the same. Chesil sold out to Tygan, Tygan lasted a few years and went pop, Chesil bought the remnants and are still going. They have the best residuals so are the safest bet.
Pilgrim aren't popular.
Speedster Clinic seem to be preferred by the real geeks for their authenticity.
Each engine is individual. A basic 1600 VW flat 4 isn't something you'd ever call unreliable, but as soon as a man in a garage starts building one with bigger capacity, twin carbs, a cam etc you're at his mercy. It's a kit car, so there are thousands of variables , even within the same manufacturers cars.
Get one with a long range gearbox and get any potential purchase looked at before you buy.

Pilgrams havent been popular as until recently they didnt shorten the beetle chassis so the body looked very very strange...

You seem to have no grasp of what enjoyment can be had from cars that don't fit your ideal, your not a petrol head, your not a piston head, your a dick head.

You utter and complete snob, some of the people on these forums are here to enjoy and share Their enjoyment of cars, period.people like you enjoy the status symbol that you ( mistakenly) see in having the so called latest and greatest.

That's a funny read , my cars 8 years old hardly a status symbol or latest and greatest lol.You seem to have no grasp of what enjoyment can be had from cars that don't fit your ideal, your not a petrol head, your not a piston head, your a dick head.
Not sure why you have to make a personal attack because I have a view on look a likes.
