... Haven't seen it mentioned yet.

From the comments I've seen elsewhere it looks like its gone down like a lead balloon, or indeed a 2cm thick quartz watch.

Bold move, but it makes all the old bullhead and helmet pieces of the 70s look like wafer thin Skagen jobs.

I think it is fantastic, too expensive for me but an amazing watch.

if it is not popular that is good for the future as this will be a classic IMO.

I would have one as an object. Bit thick for a watch wink

Don't like - looks like an ebay cheapo novelty thing.

Tried one on at my at an AD (not botique like the brochure says). It's big, and if I bought it I'd sell my X-33. Probably.

List price was around £3800 IIRC.

Had a good play around with a Z-33 on the leather strap at an Omega Boutique.

Photos and videos on the web don't do it justice - it's a very nice piece in the metal.

Titanium case means it is extremely light. Buttons and crown feel very nice. Lume was good and the digital displays easy to read and adjusted themselves well to the ambient light.

But it is VERY thick. And the one I looked at had already picked up a couple of dings on the case without even leaving the shop, so you'd have to be prepared to treat it as a tool watch - which I guess is what it is.

I was very tempted but didn't buy - I think if it had been sub-3K I might have. No discount to be had at present.

On the other hand, the missus was tempted and ended up buying a co-axial Constellation - and the boutique knocked off £250 without even blinking.

Does it have any provenance to justify the name?

Looks like a prop from 2001 (or maybe UFO biggrin).

Sure it's a technically great watch and it'd certainly get attention, but not my cup of rosie...

I really hate BIG blingy watches. But I have to be honest, if my girlie wrists were up to carrying it off and if I could afford it, I'd have one - I think they're great smile

Well I ended up buying one today.

The box is big, really big.

The watch is fantastic and really light, I ended up with the rubber strap, though the AD had the leather strap too.

Had a play with one today. Also have the iPad app. Love the sleep function and also the function to move the hands to show the LED displays.

Won't be changing my 8500 PO for one but if I had the cash spare it might might tempt me.

Holy thread resurrection batman!

Just bought a brand new one for £2180!

Got it from Yodobaiashi camera in Kyoto. Last time i went to Japan in April there were two brand new in Tokyo and these had two as well, no idea why when soldnout years ago everywhere else.

They confirmed the warranty started from date of purchase as well.

Does anyone know if the Brown Leather strap is still available to buy from Omega?

Wow, that's amazing.

I sold mine years ago. Miss it every so often.

I owned one about 10 years ago. Monolithic thing and it was pretty cool. Certainly enjoyed wearing it.

Been after one for a while and came so close in April to buying one in Tokyo. Very luckily i didn’t as i ended up needed to use the money to get home due to a family emergency. Finishing off the holiday now, actually back in Tokyo for a day as i type this, so along with the price it seemed while maybe not a no brainer, certainly justifiable!

I have a few G-Shocks and a few Omega type watches in the collection so this is a nice “bridge the gap” watch!

Only issue I have is that I am flying out of Tokyo with hand luggage only to Fukuoka where my big suitcase is and the box is massive!

Managed ti get to fukuoka with it but mailing was a distinct possibility. Luckily(ish) for me security at Japanese airports on domestic flights is really slack and we was even allowed to bring razors in hand luggage!

Should fit in the big case fairly easily as brought lots if presents for my mate over with me.
