The big 40 .. What have you done car wise ?

So with the big 40 fast approaching I am seriiously thinking what should I do car related ??

Best I have come up with is buy bentely gtc, db9 cab, mc shift mazer and head for Scotland for a week of pure driving fun.

So what have you done, good and bad for the big 40 ?

And yes have had the male in appropriate mid life crisis when I was in my early 30's before any one suggests blondes and ferraris !!! So dont need to repeat that !!

Im 40 in November and everyone keeps asking what Im planning/want to do... Im struggling to think of anything to be honest!
I quiet day off work would do me, I dont want to make a big song and dance about it, its no different from any other year really

I was perfectly happy with my Clio V6 255, but my Boss has bought me an 08 Carrera 4S Cabriolet, now everyone thinks I'm doing the mid-life crisis Porsche thing.

Turned 40 this year. Oddly didnt feel the need to do anything different about it.

Maybe get a bike?

I kinda summarized the situation, bit more complicated, but all ends up with me getting a car I didn't necessarily chose or want (as faggot ass as that sounds)

As a polite derail, I love that Porsche power, but when I jump back in the Vee, I feel in control and at home again. Amazing cars.

Bought myself a Corrado VR6 for my 30th...despite already having 2 cars at the time and not really driving either of those much!.. Was saving for house deposit at the time..whoops..( man Maths..'just negotiate the property strongly)

..Already putting £50 a month ( which will increase the closer it gets) away in a specialy set up limited access account to go towards Lions Tour in NZL in 2017 as are a few of the chaps..the year will see most of our 40th birthdays. Gotta do it in style, but also in VeeDub Campers. Test Matches will be the Luxo weekends, and the rest of the time planning to relive our post- student days in the Vans on a proper RoadTrip. Realistically looking at about £10k per man for that one to do it right...

..Any road trip with a few good mates always does it for me. The best holiday I have ever had so far (and one of the cheapes per day) was RWC RoadTrip round France in 2007 with 3 other boys in a hired 4x4 staying in cheap Ibis hotels following England from 0-36 (sobering evening) to the Final against the same country. Epic holiday that celebrated my 30 th in conjunction with the Corrado purchase (which I picked up the day I got back to Blighty)

Good purchase on the Corrado, didn't you fancy the G60? Not saying it's any better, just curious.

Also, the Lions are on tour in OZ next year aren't they, so imagine 2017 could be back to NZ?

Didn't really relate into becoming 40 but between 39 and 42 I've gone from 1 to 5 carsand I'm planning a few more. 80s classic next.

Mid life crisis? If that means I've got another 40 years in me, so be it.

I've spent the evening on my iPad looking at microlights whilst she who is the boss watches strictly come prance about. That defnitely smacks of mid life crisis.

..schoolboy!!.. I've just noticed my major error!.. I was only discussing it in the pub earlier too!.. Been a long day!..
Mind you Lions were in SA in 97!!!..I wish I had been there..too busy paying off my 2nd year student bar tab then, legend tour with Scotty Gibbs and Bentos etc..

Regarding the Corrado, I've never really thought bout the G60, Had a fair few Saab Classic 900 Turbo, but never fancied the G60, It was only available on earlier cars and the interior was quite dated. I love the sound of the VR6 power plant and am currently on my 5th..just keep coming back to them!..

Lol, we are both having bad late Saturday nights. I was in SA for 95 & 97.

The Corrado is a timeless classic and it always looked so classy back then (I haven't seen one for yonks).

Got a V6 lump in my Clio and love the torque they afford, but also loved the supercharger in my 04 Cooper S, so hard to pick a favourite.
