I saw lots out there. Aren't they just built on the hiace chassis?

We have one in the Philippines, got the D4D lump in it and auto box. Never seen one in the UK, but I have seen the Mitsubishi equivalent of the Montero here badged as the "Outlander".

I think the Fortuner would be a good seller over here, they're a good, all round useable vehicle and if ours can rough it in Manila traffic day in and day out with no problems, then the UK roads shouldn't present any challenge.

I meant the Hilux, of course.

We get these in South Africa, and they've been a runaway success. Wonderfully practical, good to drive, rugged things.

Most of these later than 1996MY LandCruiser derivatives (Surf, Prado, Colorado, 4Runner) are all based on the LandCruiser chassis. Pre-96 it was all Hilux chassis like the Gen2 Surfs.

This Fortuner i'm sure is also based on a Hilux Chassis although looking at it you'd think it would be on a LandCruiser Chassis as it looks more SUV than commercial.

Whichever chassis it's based on likely it will drive great, go anywhere and be virtually indestructible!! It's a nice looker too!!
