Looking for a digi camera:
>5MP's, zoom, mpeg, etc etc

Current short list is Fuji F610 and Canon G5, should I also look at the G6 or any thing else that I should take into consideration. I have a Canon EOS 50E with a couple of lenses that I would like to trade or sell if possible.

You don't fancy a 300D then? Or a 10D (which you may be able to get for a good price)?

You could then use your lenses and retain the merits (and demerits) of an SLR...

Take a trip to Comet, Jessops etc and poke some in the flesh. At that level they are all going to be good, it's down to features and styling I think. Also Google for some reviews - the obvious one is www.dpreview.com. If you get confused, post again with Qs and we'll try to sort you out.

One personal view: if you want to take movies, get a movie camera and do it properly!

Or a Nikon Coolpix (there are several I think).
Don't be too dazzled by massive zooms; I've heard that often you just get camera-shake at extreme magnifications (light body, small CCD and microscopic pixels).

Chatting to a guy in a camera shop today and he was saying not to go for too big a zoom and also that some of the mega megapixel (>6) are not that great. Anyone know of any good deals on a Canon S60 or G5?

I've got a Canon Powershot S1 IS. That is 3.2MP but with a 10x zoom.

Just a couple of pics I took yesterday at Heathrow.

Note these are compressed a bit by the host site.

And here's one from the window of a 747, about a month ago over south London looking south/southwest.

Well quite: how many pixels do you need? At this market level they cram them in 'cos they know that's what Joe Public looks for.

As for good deals, it sounds like you've made you mind up so.... Internet time! Amazon are often competitve.
