I've always read that the S2000 has dead, numb steering that makes it hard to feel what the front tyres are doing. I've not driven one to experience it personally, but there's enough owners stating it that it is an opinion to be given some credit at least.

I've also read about, and experienced, the excellent steering in the RX8. I assumed this to use a hydraulic setup vs the EPS in the S2000.

This evening however, I found out they both use the same EPS system, which is suprising. Does anyone know what makes the Honda system feel so bad while the RX8 is so good?

The S2000 isn't bad at all, just not great like an MX5, Elise, VX220 etc etc.

Not driven an RX8 so can't really answer your question.

My friend has an RX8 and i have an S2000. RX8 has much better steering feel and overall chassis feedback than the S2.

I have had much less seat time in the RX8 and i have alot more confidence in it compared to my car. Personally i dont rate the S2000 very highly other than the engine.

The above post is strange, my MR2 has ridiculously communicative front wheels/steering.

From my reading, the people who complain about the MR2 are those with 17" 225/35/17 on all corners.

Maybe the same problem with the s2k, as they always seem to be on really low profiles?

My MR2 tyres were 205/45/16 & 225/40/16 Michelin Pilot Sports with Sparco Racing magnesium alloys. My S2k has the standard oem 16 inch wheels with standard Bridgestone RE050 tyres in the standard sizes.
Quite reasonably sized then. beer

So, in what way were the front wheels of your mr2 not communicative enough? Just so I can investigate my own...

Thats just how they are (mk2 MR2). Drive a mk1 MR2 and you will notice the difference in steering feel.
